SVC obstruction conundrum
Sometimes I wonder, for SVCO ?
1. do we give urgent radiotheraphy?
2. do we give high dose dexamethasone?
Superior vena cava obstruction is an oncological emergency.
1. Steroids will reduce the swelling, oedematous tissue
2. mediastinal radiotheraphy will leads symptomatic relief in 80% of patients
3. stenting in majority cases.
