Malay food- traditional kampung style food in Kuala Terengganu.
If you go to Kuala Terengganu, there is a nice small hut, serves Malay food which tasted delicious, right in front of Hotel Seri Malaysia. This small and humble restaurant is called, Seri Binjai Restaurant, serving traditional Malay food, with sotong bakar and gulai tempoyak, not forgetting budu.
I have noticed that the budu color here is greyish rather than orangish if you buy the budu Ketereh brand.
The place is in front of hotel Sri Malaysia along the same road as the Pizza Hut, nearby to the Kg Cina area.
Food tasted good. It still has that olden-Terengganu traditional vibes. I would eat here rather than having fast food in Kuala Terengganu. Opens at 11am till 6pm.

I noticed ‘anak Terengganu’, especially oil drill workers, off shore engineers and technicians ‘lepak’ here and eats. Its a nice vibe if you want to eat lauk-pauk kampung.
Sotong bakar, sotong masak lemak. Price pun ok je. 1 sotong would be around RM 15 to RM 20. Bakar or gulai. Patin tempoyak is about, RM 13 per piece.
A nice hearty and wholesome lunch.
