I had the opportunity to go to A statistic class. I have long to simply just go to a class and learn something. With the MRCP all done, I feel that I should move forward an learn new things. I should explore statistic software that are available and try to read up and experiments with numbers and data.

i have regained new insights, on SPSS. (SPSS). I realized that with the right amount of learning, I can do simple things such as scatter plot. Abah pernah taught me using SAS, But at the time I was still young couldnt really grasp the concept proper (SAS).

What is Correlation?

Correlation is a measure in statistics, to study the degree of relationship between two variables.

I learnt about Pearson Correlation,( Pearson’s correlation assesses linear relationships,), is a correlation coefficient that measures linear correlation between two sets of data. Parametric measurement.

Requirement of Data for Pearson

and Spearmean Rank (Spearman’s)- A non parametric measure of rank correlation,(Read: Spearman’s correlation assesses monotonic relationships (whether linear or not).)

Spearman correlation is for for both continuous and discrete ordinal variables. Important (without considering the normality of data, focus on the differences of rank of data, rather than differences in the means,

I thinks this is a wonderful tool to explain relationship, between two sets of data. Beautiful. Correlation also has limitation, corrrelation does not indicate causality and cannot be used to do so. It is a measure of relation. It is a descriptive statistic measurement.
