I guess among the baddest oncall I’ve ever done must be yesterday (8/4/2011). I just wanted to write here in my blog on how it goes.

8/4/2011 A wonderful Friday morning is spoilt with

1040 – Dengue haemorrhagic fever with recurrent epistaxis Platlet 14

1100 – Receive call from Pekan, GCS 10/15 likely stroke case. Accepted the case for transfer

1110 – Cheah (Cardio team) received a STEMI – bad heart attack case with triple inotropes and intubated

1130 – Another Stroke case GCS OK! admitted for observation

1210 – The case from Pekan arrived, GCS on arrival dropped to 7/15 then intubated, awaiting CT brain

1230 – CT brain machine broke down

1300 – OP poisoning came in- Baygon spray

1330 – Paracetamol poisoning + Detergent parasuicidal case

1400 – Decompensated heart failure SPo02 88 % came in

1500 – Septic shock with diabetic foot came

1510 – Another Inferior MI heart attack case came in

1600 – Another stroke case came in GCS 10/15

1630 – Refferal from Ortho ward

1800 – I took a nap, tiring already

1930 – Can you imagine another MI heart attack came

2000 – HDW called for short round

2100 – Alprazolam intoxicity

2100 – Mitral stenosis with APO in AF SPo2 84 %

2100 – Referral from gynae TRO ILI case

2200 – CCU called up

2230 – Dengue fever stable patient

2250 – Another stroke case

2300 – Exacerbation of COPD

2330 – Acute exacerbation of Asthma

0000 – Collapse brought in BID – resus by emergency noted Left bundle branch block – CPR 15 minutes

0100 – Went to KFC 24 hours

0230 – Another stroke patient came in

0330 – Decompesated CCF stable

0430 – Pneumonia

0530 – Asthma

0545 – Slept at home till 0700

0800 – CCU called collapsed STEMI CPR 40 minutes – and died

0900 – Passive ward round

1030 – I went back home and slept till 1600

So, thats my oncall! I managed to keep my anger down to some houseman. And you want to tell me that’s your life sucks!

Cheah and I managed to ‘bungkus’ 7 patients.
