Quitting housemanship!
Oh my god! This topic is too widely speculated. Everyone in the housemanship world wants to quit. But the thing is you are not winning any battles.
You are always at the losing side! Unless you are already an MO. Fully registered!
Medical life is not about quitting. It is about surviving!
You must have that so what attitude! You must be stern and steadfast with learning everything! Get your grounds right!
I found this blog http://quittinghousemanship.blogspot.com/
I hope Danny is doing well with his new life an an ex-houseman. I guess he should be doing well, he did housemanship in Hosp Serdang and all. So nothing should be too high to reach!
He has written extensive account of what has gone through his mind before quitting housemanship. May be you guys want to check what he has wrote.
But let me tell you a story.
I have got few friends who quit housemanship even a lot more of friends quitting MO ship! Believe me when I say life is shit as hell, but this shitty life is yours!
* FYI, I have been trying to help my houseman in Kuantan on getting their life ok so that latter they will become great teachers and great MOs.
And I found this comment in Dr Pagavalans’ blog!
I must be the stupidiest MO then. I went through 90 + for 2 years during my housemanship and another 90 + during my 2 years – 3 years MO ship. That’s like 90 ++ / weeks for 5 years . Huhu.
And then..
I I found this on Efenem’s Weblog! (link)
Yes ! Patients are like collapsing everyday! The worst oncall ever I had was 7 collapses! Oh my god! But hey I am still here!
Good luck to Efenem in Sabah!
See its not that bad!
But to all houseman – life is shit as hell, but how you handle yours will show your true colors!
