The All New Revolutionized Lemang Super Machine

with 3 comments

I was looking for some items in MAEPS, Serdang this morning, when I saw this curious machine.

It was a lemang maker ( pronouciation: “Le-munk”) .Basically it is a desert by Malay origin, and is usually cooked inside a buluh – or bamboo shoots. That is the traditional way of doing it.

But this new  machine has revolutionized the making of lemang.

It is made out of aluminium, light weight, reusable and less soot being produced. The smell of the lemang also can be enhanced, instead of your typical burnt lemang, you can add a twist to it.

Maybe a pandan smelling lemang, or rose-smelled lemang which makes it more commercialized. Apart from that the temperature also can be regulated to achieve the optimal temperature when making lemang. Now lemang can be produced in a systematic and procedural techniques.

In term of eco freindly I guess yes. You dont have to find buluh in the evening of Maghrib anymore!

I have helped with people making lemang once in a while, especially during those festive season. But this, this is amazing.

If you looked closely, there is a stick of lemang, on the table. It can produce up to 18 sticks of lemang in one cooking.

If interested to know just email me!

P/s : Maybe a design of a homemade lemang, sort of you know a miniature boiler suitable for home used should be made. Then you can have home made lemang instead of the old burnt lemang.
