BrioVAD is a next-generation “artificial heart” developed by BrioHealth. It is a fully magnetically levitated left ventricular assist device (LVAD) designed for patients with advanced-stage heart failure.

It is considered one of the most noteworthy devices in this field, with the following highlights:

· Key advantages: Compared to existing technologies, it features a smaller pump and a thinner driveline cable, making it especially suitable for patients with smaller body frames or limited chest space. Its unique design aims to reduce blood damage and infection risk while improving quality of life.
· Latest development (as of March 2026): Its INNOVATE pivotal clinical trial in the United States has enrolled over 150 patients globally. This is the world’s first “head-to-head” study comparing two fully magnetically levitated LVADs.
